**Process for creating a customized leadership development solution**
Part 1:
1st: Needs Assessment
2nd : EQ and communication style assessments
3rd : 1-1 debriefs (establish rapport & build trust, prepare for difficult and uncomfortable team work ahead).
Deep Dive:
Needs assessment was completed individually to avoid group think. Revealed alignment and gaps regarding pain points, goals, and values.
EQ and communication assessments identified fundamental leadership development opportunities for each leader.
During 1-1 debriefs (1.5 hours each) we discovered communication, social, and emotional strengths and gaps.
One leader had a very bold and assertive communication style, but was not using the EQ skill of EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION.
Emotional expression allows you to align your verbal and nonverbal behavior. When used effectively, it puts others at ease. They can read you and see your behavior as predictable.
When you hold your emotions in & with bold communication style, it can stress others out. They see you as uncaring and authoritative. This can be a leadership DERAILER.
